Young singers group singing, ages 6-9

Voice Explorers

Ages 6-9

Prerequisites: none

Thursdays 5-5:45pm @ 1909 W Byron St

Our group voice class for 1st-3rd graders is perfect for young singers who love to sing but aren’t quite ready for private voice lessons. In a fun and supportive group setting, students will begin to build a foundation of healthy vocal technique. We’ll focus on breath control, singing with energy and support, and creating smooth, connected vocal lines (legato). This class helps young singers explore their voices with confidence while developing good habits from the start.

In addition to vocal technique, students will grow their music literacy skills through rhythm reading, solfege, and note reading on the treble clef. We’ll learn to recognize and perform musical elements like dynamics and tempo while applying these skills to both familiar and new songs. Singers will have the chance to practice solo work and enjoy the experience of making music together as a group.
