Marta Perrine (she/her) was raised in the Washington D.C. area by a large family with a love for music. She began Suzuki violin lessons in 2002 at the age of five, later adding viola in middle school, and finally transitioning to solely viola studies as a sophomore in high school. Marta earned her BM in Viola Performance from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music in 2019, where she studied privately with Atar Arad. This large program afforded countless opportunities to perform standard repertoire and new compositions by peers. During her time in Bloomington, Indiana, she was hired to perform with regional orchestras such as the Richmond Symphony and Owensboro Symphony.
Through her studies with Suzuki Method extraordinaire Mimi Zweig, Marta gained a deep understanding of the inner workings of Suzuki and has used this knowledge to teach group violin classes and private lessons in Chicago. She is a member of the Lakeview Orchestra and loves to make music with others in chamber and orchestral settings.
