Chicago native, Claire Albensoeder (she/her), began her musical journey with piano lessons at age 3. Claire excelled in piano as a child garnering high marks in the Illinois AIM exams and medaling in the Sonata-Sonatina Festivals over 7 years at Roosevelt University. A graduate from Chicago’s own Lincoln Park High School Performing Arts vocal program she went on to receive a Bachelors degree from Berklee College of Music in Music Business Management and Vocal Performance in 2018.
To supplement her private piano studies, Claire joined School of Rock Chicago at age 12 to learn more rock and contemporary genres. School of Rock helped Claire find her voice and she could be found singing and playing keyboard with the school’s Showteam (Houseband). Claire has played Taste of Chicago, SummerFest, House of Blues, Lollapalooza, and more!
In addition to teaching piano and the Voice Explorers group voice class at LYRIQ Music School, Claire was also a vocal and piano instructor at the School of Rock Chicago. Her goal as a teacher is to make sure her students are not only learning things they want to learn but also learning the fundamentals of voice, piano, and theory. Claire has experience teaching both private lessons and larger groups, up to 25 students, from children to adults. She helps the students stay focussed and motivated but also ensures they are recognized as individuals. Claire succeeds with the younger students, and her patience and good-natured bubbly personality proves that.
