Colten Unger

Colten (he/him) has been playing music since he was seven years old. Growing up in Nashville, TN, he had the opportunity to study jazz and bluegrass under the guidance of Ron Block (Alison Krauss) and perform in a variety of rock, jazz, bluegrass, and R&B bands. He later studied ethnomusicology at Moody College in Chicago, further deepening his appreciation for the history and traditions behind music from around the world.

Colten has studied guitar, bass, and sitar in depth, while also building a solid foundation in piano and drums. His approach focuses on tailoring lessons to each student's needs and goals while incorporating repertoire that inspires and excites.

As a lifelong student of music, Colten continues to explore new ways to approach his craft. That same curiosity shapes both his own musicianship and his commitment to making learning an instrument more approachable and meaningful for students at every stage of their journey.
