Brenden Cabrera

Brenden Cabrera (he/him) has had a lifelong passion for music, beginning his own education from a young age. He began with piano and cello lessons early on and participated in several music programs at Prospect High School including marching band, competitive drumline, jazz band, concert band, and orchestra. Brenden studied percussion at both Illinois State University and Harper College. 

In his professional life, Brenden is best known for playing piano and keyboards in several local groups as well as names earning widespread recognition including Late Nite Laundry, Daniel Villareal, and Half Gringa. Brenden has had the privilege of touring across North America with several of these groups. 

His performance experience covers a wide-range of genres and styles from Latin-infused jazz to indie rock. He is an avid participant in the local music scene, supporting and participating in local music initiatives such as Raices to Roots and Chicago Jazz Festival Neighborhood Events. 

Most recently, Brenden has begun a career as a freelance producer and audio engineer, working with a diverse roster of clientele. He is also excited to share his vast experience in music with students of all ages as a private instrument instructor.
